GARDEN PARTY

Every year, before the summer break, all MEPs and their assistants are invited to join our garden party. This is an unforgettable evening, with musical entertainment and food and drinks from all over Europe.

Garden Party 2017

On Wednesday 5 July 2017, the third edition of our Garden Party marked the end of the parliamentary work before the summer break. More than 500 guests, among them over 100 MEPs, came to the European Parliamentary Association to enjoy once again an unforgettable atmosphere with great music, food and drinks from all over Europe and special entertainment like an exclusive fashion show and an amazing lottery. Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament, and Herbert Dorfmann, President of our association, welcomed the participants and underlined the importance of the informal encounter the APE provides. Thanks to everybody who took part in this successful event!

Garden Party 2016

On Wednesday 6 July 2016, the European Parliamentary Association celebrated its annual garden party. About 400 people participated in this evening, which was organised under the auspices of the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament and member of our association, opened the event with a short speech and welcomed the numerous MEPs. Different European and Alsatian sponsors contributed to the successfull organisation of the event. These were: Spirits Europe, the Brasserie Meteor, the Distillerie Massenez, the Caterer “Chez Soi” as well as seven other restaurants of Strasbourg, the vineyard Weingut Schloss Ortenberg, the brewery “Csiki Sör” as well as the vineyards Nachbil and Balla Geza from Transylvania. The band PapyrosN created a great atmosphere with different European styles of traditional music, while the German amusement park EuropaPark animated the evening with two magicians and two fire jugglers.

Garden Party 2015

On Wednesday 8 July 2015, the European Parliamentary Association held its first Garden Party, a new event format to give the parliamentarians the possibility to greet each other before the summer break. Over 200 participants enjoyed the warm summer evening in the garden of our association with musical entertainment from the “Middle Coast Jazz Club” under the direction of Christophe Mentzer, member of the philharmonic orchestra of Strasbourg, and the tasty dishes of our catering service Chez Soi. Furthermore, two wine producers from Baden-Württemberg, the Weinkellerei Bimmerle and the Weingut Schloss Ortenberg, provided the guests with delicious beverages. Herbert Dorfmann, MEP and President of the APE, and Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament and member of the APE, welcomed the participants, pointing out the importance of the informal encounter our association offers. Altogether, the Garden Party was a true success and hopefully only the first of many more to come.
